Marriage Matters Month is an initiative to preserve and strengthen marriage in our culture.
Our modern culture has neglected marriage for so long that it has forgotten the vision for what marriage is and why it is so important to society. MARRIAGE MATTERS MONTH is a long overdue response to inform the general public on the institution of marriage and remind the culture why marriage is worth preserving and strengthening.

You are welcome to join in at any time during the campaign!
Whether a person is married or single, whether a church is big or small, whether a community is urban, suburban or rural, everyone plays a crucial role during MARRIAGE MATTERS MONTH. By uniting around a common vision— marriage matters and is worth preserving and strengthening— the message of the masses cannot be ignored. The culture is bound to hear and will be compelled to respond to the unified message from many different voices spread throughout the Northwest region.
Here is a partial list of ideas for how you can participate in Marriage Matters Month:
Within your home...
- Sign the “Our Marriage Matters” pledge.
- Pull out the wedding album/video and spend timesharing it with your kids or grandkids.
- If you’re a single parent, share with your kids the value of marriage.
- Wear our new Believe in Marriage wristband. (Our gift to you for a donation of any size.)
Within your house of worship...
- Invite couples to sign the “Our Marriage Matters” pledge (download a pdf of a re-producable sheet of pledge cards).
- Arrange special times to preach, teach and interact with the congregation on the importance of marriage.
- Promote marriage enrichment events and resources, invite couples to give testimonies on their relationship, give messages on how to enrich a marriage relationship.
Within your hometown...
- Coordinate a community-wide event (forum, debate, panel) for a public discussion on the importance of marriage.
- Write an article, column, or letter to the editor on the importance of marriage.
- Inform your local representatives and civic leaders on how marriage matters to you.
MARRIAGE MATTERS MONTH is an initiative of The Northwest Marriage & Family Movement, Families Northwest’s ten-year cultural campaign to make the Northwest the best region in the world for marriage, family life and children.
