Are you looking for real romantic love? Well go to the love lab at the University of Washington. Ironically it’s a social scientist, Dr. John Gottman, who runs the love lab and studies the interactions of couples to find out what leads to success and harmonious relationships, and what are the predictors that they won’t make it and will divorce. They can predict with 94 percent accuracy the couples that will succeed and those that won’t. And the essence of it is this: successful couples are those where the husband listens to his wife’s perspective, emotions and views with empathy and respect; and where the woman communicates her feelings honestly to her husband. It’s nice to have a little research now and then from the love lab to let us know how important it is that we respect each other and communicate our feelings honestly.
