Time flies... but we must navigate. As we grow older, we become more aware of the use of time. The minutes, hours and days of our lives so define our values and priorities. Occasionally it takes someone to make me step back from the urgent pace of life and take an honest look at how little time I’m devoting to the important people in my world. Like when my wife says to me, “it’s been over a week since we’ve really talked.” Hey, could you use a couple of helpful ideas? In the next couple of days plan to spend some time to laugh and play together. Laughter nourishes relationships. Try leaving a note on a mirror or lunch bag to show your love and appreciation. And do something unexpected that shows how much you care. Like surprising your teen at school and taking them out to their favorite lunch place. Do it today because a tomorrow is coming when you’ll wish you would’ve. Time flies... but let’s make sure our families are on the same flight!
