Transcript
Do you know of two family members who haven’t talked to each other in years? NFL Hall of Famer and former Congressman Steve Largent publicly shared what he believes is the number one problem facing our society today - alienation. Specifically, family members separated from one another. He told the story of his own alienation after his parents divorced. Steve was six and never heard from his dad until he was playing football with the Seahawks. Even then his dad only called him to get tickets to a game. After years of believing he had no responsibility to reconcile, Steve heard his dad was hospitalized and went to visit him in hopes of restoring their relationship. Steve’s taking the first step allowed his dad’s heart to open to allow healing and a new relationship. Before he passed away, his last moments on earth were spent with Steve at his side and peace in both their hearts. Who are you alienated from? And why not take the first step.
