Transcript Before 9-11, 2001 more than a few people felt that patriotism excused America’s faults and was a worthless effort. But that turned around following September 11th as we saw our nation remember its heritage; recover its sense of community and care for one another. Now America is not perfect, but patriotism makes us better. In a similar way more than a few people and many of America’s elites have downgraded marriage for faults it didn’t create. They’ve described it as, “an unnecessary tradition.” But marriage shouldn’t be blamed for the weakness of people to live up to its calling of love and commitment. As we look at the tragic effects in the lives of kids, the pain that divorce creates and the research proven benefits that married moms and dads bring to children, we need a revival in marriage just as we do patriotism. Marriages are important and make a giant difference to kids.
