Transcript Remember one of the first, wildly popular reality shows, “The Osbornes”? In one episode Ozzie’s daughter was interviewed about a conversation she had with her father about sex. She was shocked that his only message was “protect herself.” On camera she said it was cool that her parents talked to her about sex but admitted, “she couldn’t believe her dad was assuming and promoting that she have sex.” That just didn’t seem right, even to Ozzie Osborne’s daughter. In a survey of over 400 Washington State teens we found that six out of ten teens think it’s reasonable to expect kids to wait until they’re married before having sex. Parents have a huge influence on shaping kids perspectives on marriage and relationships. It’s reported “seven times more than any other source." Our kids are looking... we adults need to show them by example and words the highest standards for their relationships.
