Transcript It is so important to give our kids a healthy picture of marriage and family. I ran into an amazing example of this - a single mom who told me that she was the last person to ever get divorced. This mom regularly talks to her boys about the kind of person they might marry some day, about looking for certain characteristics in a spouse. She said when assigning chores like mowing the lawn or fixing the yard, she focuses their attention on learning to do these things because these are the kind of things her sons can do for their future family. She sends her sons to the home of her brother, who’s a dad and a husband. This mom also teaches her sons about fulfilling their commitments - about sticking with a team or an activity till the finish. She’s having them look forward so they’ll be prepared for the real challenges in life. This single mom probably doesn’t think of herself as an artist, but she’s painting a positive picture of marriage for her kids.
