Let me throw a different spin on Super Bowl XXXVIII's half-time debacle featuring Janet Jackson. In football, when one team throws their whole defense at you aggressively, they’re blitzing you. And it can either damage you deeply or provide an opportunity for a significant offensive advance. I can remember some of the best touchdown passes I ever threw during my career were in the midst of some of the hairiest blitzes where I just barely got the ball to a receiver. The opportunity that I see is that our society turns from talking about the problems in entertainment and focuses on promoting what enriches our lives. Rather than chip away at the precious childhood innocence of our kids, let’s answer the blitz by re-dedicating ourselves to the virtues of loving relationships and committed families. How are you using today’s entertainment blitz to constructively talk to you kids and work on the relationships that matter?
