Transcript Watched by millions of families, the Super Bowl is the ultimate prize for a football player. And Super Bowl XXXVIII was no different. Having a dad who played 13 years of pro football and after playing in the NFL for 11 years myself, I have to say that the 2004 game was an awesome competition. But the half-time show was an embarrassment. The FCC’s investigation and congress’ questioning of MTV, CBS and the NFL is appropriate and probably a little late in coming. So much of music videos and reality shows have been offering this same kind of crass, sexually-explicit entertainment for a number of years now. The great news is that public conversation has reached the tipping point. Enough people have spoken up that common sense dictates that cleaning up TV and entertainment is part of creating a decent and civil society. Now we parents need to keep the conversation going with our kids. Everyone can consume, ask for and bring out the very best in the entertainment industry, so we can walk away from a TV program with a lot more inspiration than embarrassment.
