Transcript It is surprising that not long after a Super Bowl game is played, many fans remember the commercials more than the team that lost. But the half-time show of Super Bowl XXXVIII had both fans and strangers to football talking about Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction.” Speaking two days later to Kent State University, black movie producer Spike Lee made the point that the music industry is suffering from a decline in artistry. Lee said that money and fame are driving entertainment and it’s up-ended the whole value system. He’s right! An upside down value system that barters sex and money inevitably disrespects relationships and people, especially women and the innocence of children. And the result is that institutions like the social and sexual bonds of marriage are ignored and distorted! Hey, Spike Lee isn’t censoring art, he’s speaking common sense. So let’s all do our part to value what helps us, like the virtues of love and family.
