Transcript What would you think if someone told you to take all your family pictures off your desk and out of your workplace? You’d probably think they were unsocial, insensitive, careless, non-family friendly people, wouldn't you? Well, the other day I heard someone make this recommendation. Now before you turn off the radio, consider the element of truth behind this recommendation. “What family wouldn’t prefer that you be home talking to them, rather than be at work talking about them?” Spending extra time talking about family, hobbies, pictures and movies at the workplace can keep us and our associates at work longer. And this can keep us away from spending precious time with those we love the most; our families.
As for me, I’m not taking the pictures down, but I am going to stay focused on my work and how I want others to stay focused, so we can all get home to our loved ones. |
