Transcript
A few years back I attended a Super Bowl. The media, the host city; this nation makes an amazing spectacle of the biggest football game of the year. What energy, attention and money go into one football game. But at a small dinner party one night before the game, I saw something much more lasting and more impressive. Sitting at a table next to me were five couples. These five marriages to the same spouses, represented a total of over 250 years. These couples were talking, laughing, and even dancing the whole night. And the stories that go into those 250 years of marriage are incredible: the tough times, the lessons learned, the commitment, and their kids and grandkids. What we really need is family success, a super goal! Not just for one day, but a super goal for a lifetime - to honor and care for our marriages in order to make them last. Or to be an awesome parent that loves and lifts your child up, demonstrating to them that they can make it in life.
