Transcript The bombardment of holiday retail advertising is here! Our thoughts have been coached to think about the gifts and deals in area stores. And we’ve been thinking about gifts for special loved ones. But have you been thinking about family gatherings and reaching out to relatives you haven’t talked to in a while? What about sharing as a family with the needy or less fortunate? There are so many good traditions your family can be involved in this holiday season. A few weeks before the holidays our family has a fun way to put our focus on others and not stuff. We start by randomly pulling names from a hat and secretly do these kind acts for that person for a week until we draw new names. The excitement of the secrecy, plus the good feeling of giving, coupled with the anonymity of it all makes it a special family time that we really enjoy. Doing kindnesses for each other is a great way to teach kids how to give gifts to others. And reaching out to others during the holidays is a great way to teach them how to give without expecting anything in return.
