Transcript
A friend of mine bought a new car and drove it out of the car lot and onto the highway, keeping it below the speed limit as instructed. Not far down the road his brand new car began to bang, clunk, and sputter, before creeping to a halt just off the freeway. To everyone’s surprise the new car did not have a drop of oil in the engine, and they had to replace the whole thing, costing several thousand dollars. Oil is essential to an engine. It keeps the moving parts lubricated and is necessary for an engine to function properly. Speaking of functioning properly, families take effort. The oil in a relationship is forgiveness. Relationships cannot exist without it. Now because of the closeness involved in family, every one of us in a relationship is going to be vulnerable and there will be times where we’re going to hurt or get hurt. Does someone you love need your forgiveness? It starts in the heart, and can get that relationship running again. Keep the oil flowing for our families' sake.
