Transcript
Have you ever thought about why small groups are so essential to people that are recovering from or going through real difficulties? It’s a key to Alcoholic’s Anonymous and many groups that help people recover from abuse and addictions. But have you ever thought of using support groups before you’re in trouble? And what about using these groups to support and strengthen marriages, and to make your family the best it can be? That’s what national marriage expert and psychologist Dr. Gary Smalley advises. His experience and research has shown that couples that get into small support groups on average increase their communication skills and their sense of humor. In a three year test it was shown that every couples' income and financial worth had gone up. How’s that for an American bottom line? One of the key ways that this happened was that men were found to get better at reading their wives' feelings. When they interacted in a group, men learned to read their wives' facial expressions and tone of voice. They became a team in marriage and business affairs.
