Coffee, computers, and airplanes; the Northwest is also one of the greatest places in the world for agriculture! It’s fascinating to drive across the state and see the transformation of the land. Brown and gray in the early spring to lush, green fields in the fall. Apples, cherries, onions, and corn illustrate to all of us the law of the harvest; the fact that we reap in a different season than we sow. Think about the time between when a farmer plants the seeds of an apple tree till the time when it becomes a fruit-bearing tree. It’s a long process that requires patience. Perfect words for describing family: the fruit of security, hope and character in children because a mom and dad invested years of their lives in the home loving, caring and training those kids. So the next time you bite into a great apple, remember the law of the harvest. And be encouraged that what you are sowing in your family will reap great benefits in seasons to come. |
