Transcript Some of the most striking research done by universities and private institutions is when a group sets out to prove one thing, and finds the opposite is true. Sarah MacClanahan of Princeton University went about trying to prove that single parents can raise kids alone just as well as two married parents living under the same roof. What she found was that kids do need both parents; that on a whole there is a tremendous difference between the two environments! A similar study, skeptical of the abstinence pledges by teens, surprised researcher Peter S. Bearman at Columbia University. The study found that abstinence or purity pledges definitely do impact the behavior of teens. Our research shows that couples that save sex until marriage are more satisfied and less likely to divorce. It seems the research underscores the wisdom of these trend-setting teens who are choosing abstinence as the best path to a successful future and marriage.
