Transcript
There have been far too many sad news stories about out of control parents. Most of us can relate to the pressures of work, finances, toddlers and teens pushing us over limits where we react instead of respond. Just like an overheated car, when we are overheated we are not functioning at a healthy level. So, working on conflict resolution in marriage or parenting and discipline skills now can prevent us from reacting and saying things we’ll regret later. But when it comes to avoiding those reactions here’s a start: slowdown, count to 10 and take a time out. Then communicate when you’ll revisit the problem and find a better solution than arguing or wounding each other. Invest in your family! It prevents some problems and pays dividends.
