Transcript
The demands of society are pushing and pulling men and women beyond their emotional and at times physical limits. And marriages and families are suffering as a result of this stress! Top Gun pilots go through intense training and review of their emergency procedures so that they are reflexive and committed to memory. The training is repeated over and over again so that when a pilot does get into a heated situation, they rely on memorized procedures, not on their judgment. Part of the reasoning behind this training is that in battle a fighter pilot is least likely to use good judgment and make a good decision. This is a great example for couples and parents. We know that family stress and difficulty will occur and couples will face times of crisis, even temptation. But we need to intentionally prepare for handling difficulties in our family relationships... because family matters.
