Transcript
Eric: Jeff, my house is in a wooded area and I was doing a little late autumn yard work a few years ago. I walked right past my garden hose and a bucket in my garage, deciding I would burn the small pile of debris and brush I raked up. Well, the winds jumped up, blew the flames right into the woods, setting over a 60 foot area on fire. Seven fire engines and two hours later that “little burn pile” was out.

Jeff: I think there is a parallel to family life here Eric. No one plans to argue or grow cold when they get married or become parents. So when disappointments or emotions jump up, doesn’t it make sense to prevent spreading the fire in your family? Take a time out so you can respond, not react. There are more helpful ways to prevent family difficulties from becoming disasters.
