Transcript The other day I went for a run on a beautiful path through the woods and at a certain point on this trail I saw what looked to be an old neglected and overgrown path. Out of curiosity I wondered if it was an old trail that I had ridden my mountain bike on years ago. So I decided to jog on this old path. But in just a few minutes I was several hundred yards into the thick forest realizing that I wasn’t on any trail. I’d become completely disoriented and was lost. This short jaunt to explore this different path took me jogging off my originally intended course. I was trudging through the brush with wet and muddy shoes, I ripped my sweat pants, got scratched up, and was more than a little stressed and concerned about finding my way back before dark. When I finally got back to the main trail I thought, "isn’t it easy to get off the path we intended to travel on because of some diversion or curiosity." It could be drugs, alcohol, pornography or even an affair, simply because we were curious. When it comes to making our families work we need to watch out for these sometimes innocent-looking diversions. So be careful where our curiosities lead us. Let’s chart the path we think is best and stay on it. |
