The famous catcher Yogi Berra gained almost as much notoriety for mangling the English language as he did for playing for the New York Yankees. The Hall of famer who once said, "It feels like de’javu all over again," was awarded an honorary degree from Roger Williams University. Yogi told the students, "You have a great future, even if the future isn’t what it used to be." Winston Churchill once said, "Mankind will occasionally stumble across the truth. But then he’ll pick himself right back up and keep on going." You know, it seems like there’s such a need for accuracy and truth in our world today. So many times we miss out on the most loving message; which is a truthful message. Parents being truthful with their kids, couples being truthful with one another; in a spirit of restoring relationships, building character and preventing people paying the high price of following false paths or false decisions. Let’s make sure that we not only stumble across the truth, but that each of us are willing to follow through and listen to those hard messages that sometimes tell us that we’re drifting off the best course. |
