Transcript
Today’s culture is not always supportive of family. But every family can make commitments that can make a real difference. Ralph and Cheryl Broetje have been married for 33 years and have nine children between the ages of 15 and 32. They own and run a large orchard business. Their annual commitment is to employ people year-round in a largely seasonal industry. Their commitment has improved family life for hundreds of previous migrant farm workers. A weekly commitment for the Broetjes is to attend church together and take the whole family out to dinner. But Cheryl and Ralph say that a daily commitment to tell your kids that you love them is one of the most important things they are committed to doing. They equate it to sending your child out in the world with some sunshine instead of a shadow. Cheryl says a "simple touch or a hug can have a huge impact on your child’s day." These are people that enjoy life to its fullest! And it’s largely due to their daily, weekly and year round commitments to put family first.
