Transcript Many well-deserved doors of opportunity have opened up to women in the last 40-to-50 years. But some problems that men used to experience are now also affecting women. Listen to this 13-year-old's painful letter. "My mother is a workaholic. She works at work, at home, after dinner and after hours. She never has any fun. I’m afraid she’s on the verge of a nervous breakdown, if not already over the edge. I’ve talked to her, so have my brother and father. How do I send the message to Mom that life is not just paper work and deadlines but fun and happiness?" That "Dear Abby" letter was written in March of 2000. The daughter who wrote it never mailed it because tragically she died in December of that year. Some of us work too much at work, or too much at home, or maybe we work too much at golf, and we’re not there for our family. Do you have your life in balance? Are our relationships at the top of the priority list? I want to encourage you to make home a fun, loving and enjoyable place, where we will be remembered not for how much we worked, but for how much we loved. |
