We’ve been talking about deciding to succeed in your marriage. A few weeks ago, friends of ours went out on a mid-week date while their kids were busy with activities. The two went out for coffee at a nearby Starbucks and were talking and laughing with each other. His wife was flirting with him in front of everyone; so much so that someone asked the two "how long had they been married?" The wife responded "Fifteen years, and it’s awesome!" The next morning when the husband returned to the same Starbucks, the gal behind the counter asked him what’s the key to your marriage? He was able to explain to her that both of them were committed to each other for life, that they put marriage at the top of their lists, and still date each other. He said, "We work at staying in touch and communicating regularly." This marriage not only inspired a coffee shop one night, and gave some hope to some future spouses, but I bet they’ve got some kids that have a great picture of what a committed marriage can be. |
