Transcript Eric: I guess we all can relate to the guy who drives circles around the neighborhood, looking for a specific address, but he won�t stop and ask for directions! Here's the Director of Families Northwest, Jeff Kemp.
Jeff: And Eric, teenagers aren�t about to accept a map from parents either and be told go here, here, and here, and make this turn and that... no! We need to give them a compass! That means giving them a world view, a set of tools that they can use on their own to make wise choices. Giving them that compass will help them chart a path through different cultural messages that�ll direct them back to true north. It asks questions like "Hey, does a television show like Temptation Island honor human relationships? And what about that new movie? Is it divorcing love and marriage from sex and sensuality?" We need to show teens the airbrushed pictures of perfect bodies are not realities. We need to be there when teenagers encounter these messages. And provide the needed tools that will ensure our kids have a healthy future for family life.
